Issen Basics and Timing Cues

This Issen timing guide explains the official risk-reward concept without inventing frame counts, boss windows, or guaranteed cues.

What is the official Issen concept?

Issen asks you to attack in the precise moment just before an incoming hit lands. The official Xbox feature presents it as a higher-risk option than a parry, with a smaller success window and a powerful counterattack when successful.

How should you practice without fake precision?

Use a visible enemy wind-up, stay at a consistent distance, and make one timing change at a time. If you cannot identify why an attempt failed, return to blocking or parrying and observe the attack again. Do not assume one cue applies to every enemy or every attack.

This site does not yet claim an exact number of frames, a best practice opponent, or guaranteed timing for any boss. Those details remain hidden until tested on a named platform and game version.

Compare Parry vs Deflect, start with the beginner guide, and review safe PC troubleshooting if input or frame stability is affecting practice.
